Established in 1992 by Dr. Alan R. Boyco, B.Sc., O.D. as a small independent optometry practice, Image Optometry has matured into a chain of optometry clinics. Currently operating from fourteen locations in British Columbia Image is focused on acquiring a number of locations in Alberta during the coming years. All locations operate as independent optometric corporate franchises that are owned solely by Doctors of Optometry. The company is experiencing phenomenal growth and is well on it's way to accomplishing the objective of positioning itself to become the largest total eye care provider in Western Canada.

Dr. Boyco continues to be the driving force behind Image Optometry. He has been the Team Optometrist for the Vancouver Canucks (NHL) the Vancouver Giants (WHL) and the BC Lions (CFL) since 1994.

He was also the team Optometrist for the Vancouver Grizzlies (NBA) while they were a Vancouver franchise from 1995 through 2000. During the 2006 World Junior Championships (IIHF) hosted in Vancouver he was the Event Optometrist.
