The BC Turkey Marketing Board is funded by growers to represent their interests with government and the processors, and to promote turkey products in BC. There are approximately 50 producers raising turkeys. Their farms are mainly in the lower mainland area.

• Turkey is an excellent source of niacin, a factor in the maintenance of good health.
• Turkey is a good source of phosphorous, a factor in the normal development of bones and teeth.
• Turkey has fewer calories.
• Turkey contains less fat.
• Turkey contains less cholesterol.
• The small amount of fat in turkey is mainly unsaturated.
